VISA

All travelers planning to visit Bhutan must obtain a pre-approved e-Visa. To facilitate this process, we kindly request that you email us the following information, along with full tour payment, approximately 4 weeks prior to your intended arrival in Bhutan:

  1. 1. A copy of your passport: Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of your planned visit.
  2. 2. Your recent passport-sized photograph.
  3. 3. A copy of your travel insurance: Please ensure that your name is clearly visible on the insurance document.
  4. 4. Your current address and phone number. Additional information may be required if necessary.

The visa fee for a single entry is USD $40 per person, and its valid for a period of three months. Additional fees will be applicable for any amendments to the visa.

USD $ 100 per person per day will be charged as Sustainable Development Fee (SDF). The SDF is a way that visitors support Bhutan’s ongoing development and sustainability project.

If you plan to enter Bhutan via Phuentsholing, Samdrup Jongkhar, or Gelephu by surface, you will need to present the Visa Clearance at the Immigration counter.

The actual visa will then be stamped on your passport upon arrival in Bhutan. Visa extensions can be obtained in Thimphu at an additional cost, and it is important to note that visas cannot be obtained at any Bhutanese embassies abroad.
