Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. Take in the beautiful scenery as you make your way to Thimphu. Once there, embark on a visit to the Memorial Chorten, a serene and sacred monument dedicated to the late Third King of Bhutan. Continue your exploration to Buddha Point, where you can marvel at the magnificent statue of Buddha Dordenma, which stands tall and offers panoramic views of the city. Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the Dechenphodrang Monastery, a peaceful and spiritual place that provides an insight into Bhutanese culture and tradition. Conclude the day with a visit to the grand Trashichoe Dzong, an impressive fortress that houses government offices and religious institutions.
Today, you will be transferred to Punakha, a picturesque town known for its stunning landscapes and historical sites. Along the way, make a stop at the Simtokha Dzong viewpoint, where you can admire the architectural beauty of this ancient fortress. Continue your journey to Dochula Pass, a mountain pass that offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Take your time to soak in the majestic scenery and capture memorable photographs. Later, visit the Wangdue Phodrang Dzong from the outside, appreciating its grandeur and significance. After a delightful lunch, embark on a hike to Chimi Lhakhang, a charming temple known as the “Temple of Fertility.” Explore the temple and learn about its unique traditions. Conclude the day with a visit to Punakha Dzong, an architectural masterpiece situated at the confluence of two rivers. Immerse yourself in the rich history and spiritual ambiance of this remarkable fortress before retiring to your hotel for the night.
Today’s journey takes you back to Paro, with a stop at Thimphu. Begin the day with a visit to the Takin Preserve Zoo, where you can witness the unique national animal of Bhutan, the takin. Spend some free time exploring Thimphu, perhaps visiting local markets or souvenir shops. Enjoy a delicious lunch before driving to Paro, where you will spend the night at a hotel. Take this opportunity to relax and admire the scenic beauty of Paro.
Start your day with an invigorating morning hike to Taktsang, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. This iconic monastery clings to a cliffside and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys.
