Arrival in Paro Welcome to Bhutan! Begin your birdwatching journey as our Prayer Flags Tours representative greets you at Paro International Airport. After a smooth reception, the Paro River becomes your first birding haven, offering glimpses of Ibisbill, Brown Dipper, and more. Retire for the night in the comfort of a Paro hotel.

Drive to Chele La and Thimphu Embark on an early drive to the breathtaking Chele La pass, 3810m above sea level. Alpine birds, including Satyr Tragopan and Himalayan Cuckoo, grace this highest motorable road. As the day unfolds, explore Chele La’s avian wonders and descend to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. A cozy overnight stay awaits.

Dochu La, Lampelri Botanical Park, and Punakha Venture to Dochu La, 3,140m above sea level, for a panorama of the Eastern Himalayas. Birdwatching at the Dochula pass unveils a rich tapestry of Hodgson’s Hawk Cuckoo, Darjeeling Woodpecker, and more. Continue to Lampelri Botanical Park, home to rare species. Conclude the day in Punakha at Hotel.

Jigme Dorji National Park and Punakha Dzong Explore Tashithang Valley in Jigme Dorji National Park, encountering diverse eagles, Trogon, and vibrant woodpeckers. Afternoon brings a visit to the iconic Punakha Dzong, followed by a quest for the elusive White-bellied Heron. Overnight at Hotel.
