The Tour of the Dragon race is of 268 kms starting from Bumthang (Central Bhutan) and travelling 268 km over 4 famus mountain passes before finishing point to Thimphu Clock Tower Square. Itinerary
Arrive at Paro International Airport, where you’ll be greeted by your guide and transferred to Thimphu. Enroute, visit the Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge. Spend the day acclimatizing and exploring around. Overnight Thimphu
Morning explore Thimphu, the National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma, and Drive to Punakha via the Dochula Pass, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas.
Hike to Khamsum Yuelly Namgay Chorten. Visit Punakha Dzong, Chimi Lhakhang, and explore the Punakha valley.
Drive to Trongsa, crossing the Pele La Pass. Visit Chendebji Chorten and Trongsa Dzong, the largest dzong in Bhutan. Drive to Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. Enroute, visit the Yathra Weaving Center.
Explore Jakar Dzong, Jambay Lhakhang, and Kurjey Lhakhang. Prepare for the race.
Attend the “Tour of the Dragon,” one of the toughest one-day mountain bike races in the world, covering 268 km. Cheer on the participants and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Visit Takin zoo, Dechenphodrang (Monastic school). Drive to Paro.
Early Morning attend the closing day of the Paro Festival. Experience the concluding rituals and celebrations. If time permits Hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang) for panoramic views.
Depart from Paro for your onward journey, concluding the Paro Festival experience.
