Located in the scenic Bumthang Valley, the Bumthang Cheese Factory in Bhutan is a symbol of the nation’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and economic development. Established in the early 2000s, the factory was initiated to boost local dairy farming, offering farmers a sustainable livelihood. Supported by the government, the project aims to enhance economic opportunities in the region while preserving traditional Bhutanese culinary practices.

In addition to cheese, the Bumthang Cheese Factory collaborates with the Red Panda Brewery. This collaboration led to the creation of the Red Panda Beer, a unique Bhutanese brew that reflects the country’s rich cultural tapestry. The partnership between the cheese factory and the brewery not only contributes to the local economy but also showcases Bhutan’s innovative approach to agriculture, fostering a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity in the heart of the Himalayas.
